AusCERT 2010 reflections: Superstars and iPads

IT professionals from all over Asia Pacific gathered at the annual AusCERT Asia Pacific information Security Conference in the Gold Coast this week.

This year senior management and technical staff from government agencies and universities had the opportunity to learn about the latest security trends from local and international information security experts.

Speakers included Whitfield Diffie, co-inventor of public key cryptography; Marcus Ranum, CSO at Tenable Network Security; Roger Dingeldine, president and co-founder of the Tor Project, Kaspersky founder Eugene Kaspersky and John Stewart Cisco, chief security officer.

The expo floor was packed with security vendors, distributors and resellers demonstrating their technologies.

Exhibitors also offered fun prizes including iPads and flat-screen TVs to delegates who participated in lucky door draws and other competitions.
