ASI Solutions has won a tender with a Victorian government department, estimated to be worth more than $1.1 million.

ASI Solutions has won a tender with a Victorian government department, estimated to be worth more than $1.1 million.

The contract will involve the company providing the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DE&T), with 3Com 4228G LAN switches, according to a statement issued by ASI.

Andre Massih, ASI Victorian state manager, said it had been a long and thorough evaluation process. "ASI sees this as an important link in the chain for our national service and support strategy," he said.

The tender win is for the rollout of 1,660 3Com SuperStack 4228G switches, provided to each government school in Victoria for use in their administration (CASES) side of the network. This rollout is expected to start early next year, according to the statement.

"The second area is the panel of recommended suppliers for which ASI will offer the range of 3Com switches, bundled with support," it stated.

ASI and 3Com plan to run product training for the DE&T's contracted specialist technicians and school-based technicians next January, according to the statement.
