Former KAZ Group owner debuts new services company, PKBA.

Kazacos launches new firm
Industry veteran Peter Kazacos has thrown himself back into the IT industry after launching a new services company, PK Business Advantage (PKBA).

In 1988, Kazacos formed the KAZ Group and turned it into Australia’s largest IT consulting and outsourcing IT services provider. In 2004, KAZ was sold to Telstra, where Kazacos has just completed a two year assignment.

Since February 2007, PKBA has acquired regional-based IT and communications companies in South Australia, North Queensland and Tasmania, forming a national team of 80. These companies include CWS in Queensland, Comstra in Tasmania, and Pecol in South Australia.

PKBA’s national network will provide a suite of IT business applications, services and infrastructure technologies, including IP telephony, hosting, and consulting. PKBA's vendor relationships include IBM, HP, Cisco, Microsoft and Symantec.

Kazacos told CRN: “During my two years at Telstra I learned a lot about the telecommunications market and watched the broadband penetration. I saw the opportunity to provide IT and telecoms as a bundled service offering to the mid-market of 50 to 500 seats.”

When PKBA does look to the fewer than 50 seats market, Kazacos said the firm will engage with resellers with a matured offering.

“The vision of PKBA is to enable emerging enterprises as well as large organisations to get the best out of their IT investments by deploying advanced technologies and working closely with our local service delivery teams,” added Kazacos.
