Looking to whirl up some warm sentiments, Telstra has announced an assistance package for Queenslanders affected by Cyclone Larry.

The package offers customers who report a temporary loss of their Telstra fixed phone service free call diversion from their fixed service to a fixed or mobile service of their choice, irrespective of carrier.

It also offers charging at fixed service rates, in accordance with their selected HomeLine plan, for local and STD calls made on their Telstra mobile service.

Customers should contact 13 22 03 to report their loss of service. How customers will report the loss of their service with no service has not been made clear.

Telstra said it will offer the support package until network damage in the area has been repaired.

Telstra BigPond Broadband customers whose homes have been destroyed can receive free connection of a BigPond Broadband service within twelve months from the date of the disaster (limited to one service per affected household/business).
