We’ve managed to score an exclusive interview with one of the lead programmers on Windows 7. Here’s what you can expect to find in the new version, direct from our inside source, who of course, wishes to remain anonymous.

iTnews: So, will Windows 7 really look just like Mac OS X?
MAD:* Well, we can’t confirm or deny that.
iTnews: Hang on, that’s Apple’s standard response….
MAD: We never confirm or deny Internet rumours.

iTnews: No, just a minute, that’s not what Microsoft people say, they usually tell us what’s coming in the next version, then change it when it ships, because they couldn’t get it working. Are you telling us there won’t be any advance leaks this time?
MAD: Well, we neither confirm nor deny that.
iTnews: Remind us again, why did you agree to this interview?
MAD: I don’t recall officially agreeing to this interview.

iTnews: Well, you’re here, so that must mean you agreed…
MAD: We can neither confirm nor deny that.
iTnews: What? That you agreed or that you are even here?
MAD: We never confirm or deny reality.
iTnews: Have you lot been drinking from Apple’s water fountain?
MAD: We believe there is sufficient difference to provide plenty of competition.

iTnews: Huh? Where did that come from? Are you telling us that Windows 7 is going to be so similar to Mac OS X that we won’t be able to tell them apart?
MAD: We would never copy another company’s products, and if we did, we would neither confirm nor deny it.

iTnews: Uhuh. But maybe you’d licence their code? How about that then?
MAD: We no longer confirm or deny anything, and even less tomorrow.
iTnews: Well you seem to have licensed their interview technique.
MAD: We can neither deny nor confirm that.
iTnews: Hah! You got it wrong! You said ‘deny’ first! Hah!
MAD: We believe there is sufficient difference to provide plenty of competition.
iTnews: Arrgghhhh!
