CeBIT Australia 2008 throws open its doors

Around 750 exhibitors (including CRN), 100 expert speakers and 35,000 expected business visitors will be attending the event.

Leading representatives of business, science and government will again use the show as a platform for discussing and driving forward the future of ICT and the event will feature six conferences covering Open Source and Enterprise 2.0 Technologies, Internet Telephony, eMarketing and SEO strategies and eGovernment.

At the inaugural conference AusInnovate the nation’s peak R&D agencies, NICTA, CSIRO ICT Centre and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) come together to discuss and promote R&D and Australian innovations.

The speaker line-up includes; Senator Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy; Lindsay Tanner, Minister for Finance and Deregulation; Michael Simmons, G9 Bid Consortium Chief Executive; Prof Richard Lester, Director, Massachusetts Institute for Technology Industrial Performance Centre and adviser to the Australian Government; Jason Calacanis, advisor to Sequoia Capital, founder Mahalo.com and serial entrepreneur; and Dr Sridhar Vembu, Founder, Web 2.0 software pioneer Zoho.

CeBIT Australia showcases business technology innovations across 28 specialist show floor categories. Visitors will see gadgets and devices ranging from mobile phones, navigational systems and tablet PCs to portable storage systems and next generation plasma displays.

The entire business ICT solutions spectrum is covered by topics such as next-generation Enterprise 2.0 software, VoIP communications, managed and IT services.

CeBIT Australia will keep its doors open from 20-22 May at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.
