Enterprise open source vendor Red Hat has announced what it says is the "market's first comprehensive open source service orientated architecture technology."

Red Hat bosses open source SOA
The JBoss Enterprise SOA platform, combines software from its other open source projects, including JBoss enterprise service bus (ESB), JBoss jBPM and JBoss Rules. ESB deals with the application and service integration, jBPM takes care of the service orchestration and the human and service workflow, while Rules delivers business policy and rule management.

JBoss has been working on the package with partners, ActiveEndpoints and SOA Software, and a blog posting by JBoss's SOA Team says that the package allows users to "orchestrate their service invocations within the Java language and never have to deal with XML (or specifically WSDL), which is not necessarily one of the most natural fits for Java programmers."

Red Hat expects the package to be available by the end of February.
