Nobel Laureate and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore will be the closing keynote speaker at this year’s RSA Conference 2008 in San Francisco, event organisers have just announced.

The environmental activist and author of best selling book ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, Al Gore will explore the growing trend towards Green Technologies.

“We are thrilled to welcome a former U.S. Vice President and one of the world’s largest champions of the environment to RSA Conference 2008,” said Sandra Toms LaPedis, area vice president and general manager of RSA Conference.

The book 'An Inconvenient Truth' discusses the threat of global warming and the movie of the same title received Academy Awards.

“Considering the progress and timely relevance of advancements in Green technology, we are eager to hear Al Gore’s compelling exploration into cutting-edge innovations. His addition is particularly exciting because we have now rounded out what has become one of the strongest keynote lineups in recent Conference history.”

Gore joins a prestigious lineup of keynote speakers that include best-selling author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell, as well as security company experts such as Val Rahmani, general manager, IBM Internet Security Systems; Craig Mundie, chief research and strategy officer, Microsoft; John W. Thompson, chairman of the board and CEO, Symantec Corporation; Arthur W. Coviello, Jr., Executive Vice President, EMC Corporation and President, RSA, The Security Division of EMC, just to name a few.

The closing keynote speech at RSA Conference 2008 will take place April 7-11, 2008, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on April 11, at 2:15 P.M.
