Pookanyoni has been researched and developed for use as an intelligent database product that suites the needs of the individual, is easy to use, customisable, flexible and avoids the need to be proficient in computer software. Finally, a database made simpler than a word processor.

Pookanyoni was originally contrived with Planned Maintenance in Mind. This was quickly set aside as its core structure facilitates so much more. Not only was providing more an essential ingredient, but it also needed to compliment endeavours to protecting our environment and reduce paper and resource waste.

The Development Team committed themselves to pursue global trends and to develop the product using Java because it would address the many excellent Operating Systems found in the market which in turn would free people to pursue their preferences. The use of Java would additionally enhance the product development to move beyond the Desk Top Computer and into the mobile market.

The product itself is a 4 Level Master Linked Database with supporting functions. To explain the need for 4 Levels, let us consider the needs of building management. Buildings have owners and their details would normally be placed on Level 1. With the building, its address and details being on Level 2, Level 3 would therefore facilitate the contents of the building, namely Lifts, Lighting, Pumps, Geysers, Fire Extinguishers etc. In this particular example, Level 4 would probably never be used but it is available for the "Just in Case" scenario.

For the individual, Level 1 could be Friends and Family, Level 2 would address their respective interests and Level 3 would provide the details about the interests. Pookanyoni will record and track the scholastic performance of each child with every tutor, all of their homework and project submissions, and teacher and exam marks along with images, correspondence and more.
